Welcome to Helping Hands For Life! Running For a Cause
Welcome all!! This page is dedicated to raising money and awareness for several causes by completing VIRTUAL RUNS. If you are a runner that loves BLING and supporting a great cause then this is the place for you! Virtual racing allows you to get healthy while helping others on your own terms. Through virtual racing, you are able to complete your desired distance or distances on the pavement, on a treadmill, on a bike, on an elliptical, or any other cardio equipment all at once or broken up over an extended time frame during the event. It's your race, your way. You can even "double dip" by earning your medal while completing a "brick and mortar" race (a race held in person). It is completely up to you. The important thing is that you have fun achieving your goal while helping make a difference in the process.

What?
A virtual run doesn’t mean you don’t have to run.  It means there is no organized run and people all over the world can register! You run where you live at whatever time is best for you. Pictures are not required to receive your medal but it would be encouraging and motivating to others if you submitted pictures on Facebook or on Running for a Cause. After your run, your amazing BLING will be mailed to you. Each run will have a unique medal which will be only available for that race!

Where?
Anywhere in the World -you can run your favorite route or try somewhere new!

Bling?
There will be BLING with every race!

  1. Could you let us know where the funds are donated? I mean, I assume it's for research, but which particular organizations? Some of these diseases have multiple fundraising groups.

Thanks for organizing these Virtuals! Can we learn more about you and how you started this site? There wasn't an "About Me" link, and I'm just curious.

    :) -Jeri

  2. Yes I will definitely update the information! Most of the time its on the page with the medal. I started this site for my cousin who had juvenile huntingtons disease. she passed away 4/18/13. That same day I was committed to raising awareness and raising money for a cure. I support HDSA(huntingtons disease of America)--in honor of my cousin--I raise money and awareness for the Lupus Foundation of America(check out my facebook page "Band together for lupus" I also raise money for the wounded warriors project and I do actual races for the army reserve and my Girl scout troop 1196! If you have any more questions feel free to ask :-)

  3. After 25+ years My father most recently passed away from Parkinson's disease. Though I have donated to the Parkinson's foundation for years several friends have expressed wanting to donate as well. My father had been an avid runner and cyclist for many years and I feel this would be a great way to give back in his memory. Please advise how I can participate and offer customized medals for Parkinson's.

  7. I am wondering how to start the process to create a virtual race? There are a few awareness that I want to do races for, but I'm not sure how to go about doing it. How do you go about creating the medals?
